LINGO communication cards are a set of 80 cards each with language prompts and simple activities for early years staff to use to build conversations with children across the provision. The ideas and prompts are specific to different areas of the setting, such as the ‘home corner’, ‘construction’, ‘painting’, etc., so adults can use language and activities relating to these areas.
 
The Communication Cards are put on the wall in the different areas of provision and used by the adults to support conversations with children, with the aim of extending conversations and developing specific aspects of language development.
The activities and ideas are designed to support: listening and attention; words and concepts; understanding and talking; play and interaction and skills for story telling and personal narratives
